The Working Group for Men and Equality of Women and Men was established by the decision of the chairperson of the Government Council for the Equality of Women and Men (“Council”) on the base of a resolution of the Council from May 29, 2012. The Working Group is an advisory and working body of the Council, and its aim is to deal with the topic of men in relation to the equality of women and men.
Among the aims of the Working Group for Men and Equality of Women and Men are assistance with creating the Updated measures of the document Priorities and Methods of the Government for Enforcing Equal Opportunities for Women and Men, monitoring statistics, educational activities; or preparing reports on social issues of men in the field of equality of women and men.
As its main areas of interest, the Working Group has set the following:
- Social conditions of fatherhood
- Violence – domestic and public
- Men in the education system
- Men's health
